If you're looking for longevity Praba I would choose between Donaldson and Tulo (who's signed until 2019).

    I went with JD.

Go with Stroman. He's borderline untouchable on this team and he's the future ace of this ball club. He's not a Ricky Romero (sorry Axe LOL). Stroman has a lot of confidence that borderlines on arrogance and honestly that kind of attitude will pay huge dividends as a starter.

If you want longevity never go with a guy who is in the closer role.

I'll never buy another current "future stud" jersey. Damn RickyRo. I damn near bought the Brett Lawrie at the same time instead of Romero. Either way, it wouldn't have worked out.

Buehrle, Dickey, Price, and Estrada all likely leaving the rotation.
And the Jays already traded away a tonne of their young prospects.

What happens if the arbitrator awards Donaldson 20-25 million? (which I think is likely, considering his last two seasons)
AA might be tempted to try flipping Donaldson for starting pitching. And/or use that money to re-sign Price.
I shutter at the thought of Donaldson being gone, as he's easily my favourite player on the team. But it makes some sense to me that they might sell high on him, if they can find a suitable trade for pitching. Their rotation, with the exception of Stroman, is pretty much gone next month.
They have some tough decisions to make.
    Buehrle is gone (20mill)
    Izturis is gone (3mill)
    Hawkins (2.25mill)
    Pennington (3.27mill)
    Saunders (2.88mill) Arbitration tho
Romero buyout goes from 7.5mill penalty to 600k penalty
You get about 2mill from Morrow, McGowan, and Santos buyout

They have money to spend, and Arbitratiors won’t give someone 20mill, it’ll be closer to 12-15mill.

After options+Arb+Guaranteed+”Other”, BaseballReference estimates the Jays Payroll to be around 120.6mill next yr, that’s 30mill less than right now. So 20mill to Price, you can see the exact starting lineup minus retirees’ next yr.

    Also Dickey will stay.

Baseball players sign in American Dollars so that won’t influence the players decision. It’ll help theirs if they’re smart. It’s if Rogers wants to shell it, and they’ve seen how much they make when the team wins, and he helps them win. I do not see Donaldson off the roster between now and 2019 (FA)

The players being paid in dollars is the problem I was talking about. The Jays shell out more than other teams with a weak loonie.
he's pitched well and he's on a club option. They can't leave it up to chance to have only Stroman and hutchinson as the starters on the roster. They pick up his option (if they dont it's 1mill penalty) and now they have Stroman, Dickey, Hutch (BACKUP PLAN), and go try and resign Estrada/other pitcher and Price. it's too risky to not have Dickey on the roster.

    Just my thinking

Why am I watching Sportsnet but getting the American commentators? Normally here in Canada it's the other way around. I will watch an american channel but get the Canadian feed.

My guess, and it is a complete guess... is that the American company (likely ESPN) owns all the rights to televising MLB playoffs. So Sportsnet probably has to pay said company to be able to show their telecast of it on Sportsnet channels.
