I would love to face TB in that first round! Let's hope your prediction comes to fruition!

At the same time, I think home field would be hugely important throughout the playoffs, especially if they play KC. The Jays' record at home speaks for itself. And Kauffman stadium is a pitcher's park, while Rogers centre is a hitter's park and the Jays are a hitting team.

Tough call on balancing rest vs. the importance of getting home field throughout.
    Yeah no doubt.

Makes you wonder if the injuries to certain players is more serious than they were letting on, because it is pretty stupid to treat it like there's nothing left to play for. At the very least there's no real need to put out a full on AAA team yesterday, you can mix in some starters here and there. Baltimore is a very beatable team. Hell, we came decently close yesterday with the AAA team.

July 10th – 12th was their @KCR series. They lost 3-0, won 6-2, lost 11-10. Estrada and Schultz took the losses. So bats went cold once Estrada vs Duffy it happens, we won vs Young, then blew a lead.

The Blown lead was the game Buerhle was down 6-0 after the first. Jays were down 7-0 going into the 6th and scored 8 in the 6th. There were 7 errors in that game, so I’ll even chalk that up as a wipe out game. Didn’t happen. So Toronto split the 1st away series without Price, Tulo, Revere, Hawkins and so on.

Then the KCR series in Toronto was a 3-1 series win. 5-2Jays, 7-6Jays, 7-6KCR, 5-2Jays. The loss was a Blown lead again by Lowe with 3 scored in the 8th.

In a 7 game series, the away team really just has to do what they do at home, and steal one on the road. Jays can do it. But I much rather that homefield, so I can go to more games…

Let's talk Playoff Rosters. For the Jays 25 man roster I see something like this:

Starters (9): Revere, Donaldson, Bautista, Encarnacion, Tulowitzki, Smoak, Martin, Pillar, Goins
    SP’s(4): Price, Stroman, Estrada, Dickey
Relievers(7): Osuna, Sanchez, Cecil, Loup, Lowe, Buehrle, Hendricks,
Bench Players(4): Pompey (OF), Colabello (OF/1st), Pennington (IF), Navarro(C),

That leaves one spot for either another reliever (Hawkins or Tepera) or a final bench player (Kawasaki).

    Thoughts?

You guys think Gibbons will give two innings to Buehrle in the last two games? For him to reach 200 IP

I really do think Gibbons will give Him the chance to pitch a couple of innings on Sunday IF Buerhle says he's good to go.

I think Buehrle starts that game.. Pitches his 2 innings and then give the pen some work as they don't play until Thursday!!

This really comes down to whats best for the team, getting the best record in the AL or Buerhle hitting 200 innings.

If the Jays win on Saturday and the Royals lose, then I believe there's a "chance" we see him on Sunday in some capacity, either starting or even coming in as a reliever for a couple innings. If the standings stay the way they are right now (tied), then I doubt we see him. Getting that home field throughout the playoffs is the priority here. Buerhle knows this, and so does everyone else.

Agree with Axeman. It would would great to see hi get 200 but everyone including Buehrle knows winning the AL I most important. Perhaps if they get up 6+ runs Sunday we could see him as wel.
