I think it would be good for the Leafs to have a legitimate superstar on their roster. I know that the media thing would be insane and we'd never hear the end of it, but truthfully, that franchise could use someone like him. They are overdue.

Oh geez I hope Stamkos does not go to the Leafs.... As a Habs fan with pretty well only Leaf fans for friends, I'll have to hear way too much about him and the Leafs for way too long... Stay in Tampa Steve! Ps. He did sound kinda non-committal. For a new captain, what a message to fans.... The parallel was made bc of Lebron, who IMO is a tool with all his stunts. It is pretty interesting that he said 'we'll see' and as mentioned by agentzero - doesn't seem like an appropriate response from your new captain.
As a 'leaf-follower' and not really a 'leaf-fan' living in Toronto I think it would be great for them to land Stamkos but like mentioned, I highly doubt it happens.

It is interesting that professional hockey players tend not to put too much emphasis on 'going home' Lots of examples of players deciding to stay where they are or chasing a better hockey situation. I would imagine that I would want to go play for my favourite team but I guess once in the business you develop different loyalties and priorities.
