Yahoo is incredibly awful with adjusting eligibility.
I have a list that I rip on yearly...
Let me see if I can go find it.
I'm doing my draft in a couple weeks so I probably won't know whether players have lost or gained positional eligibility on Yahoo.
I'm mainly worried about people who might lose eligibility. I know Yahoo's unpredictable but I'd like to be able to have some educated guesses.
Who are some candidates for losing or gaining this season?
12 team H2H Most Cats Wins; Keep 6/winner keeps 7; G A PPP +/- SHP SOG HIT BLK PIM // W SV GAA SV% SHO
3 C, 3 LW, 3 RW, 6D, 2G, 5 bench
C - McDavid, Crosby, Tavares
LW - DeBrincat
RW - Meier, Miller
D -
G - Jarry

In terms of players retaining eligibility, Yahoo is better than ESPN. Players rarely receive dual eligibility on ESPN until about 20 games into the season. I've found Yahoo keeps theirs more and is much more hesitant to remove/change anything.
Well, I can't find the Dobber post... but I did find horrorfan's (BN) Yahoo Sports Community post.
And if you click here, you'll see the list he copied/pasted which had positional eligibility when Yahoo! came out with them last year.
So some of these guys have now not been playing their spot for TWO years.
I'm in touch with Yahoo regularly to find out what they are doing with eligibility next season. Our numerous complaints may be finally making some headway, as they plan to review the entire process, fixing where it's incorrect and coming up with criteria to better assign positions in the future. Details haven't come up yet, and I've asked for more information about his mention that they will focus on primary positions. So I asked specifically if each player will have only one position to start the season. He's meeting with the product team this week and will give me an update soon.

It may work, bud.
Seriously - people have to justify their job/position by taking action.
If you get one guy that is constantly pestering somebody (and it's a small-scale position), then you may actually get your way.
Reminds me of Andy Dufresne pestering the local government in Shawshank for library funding.
He wrote a letter every week.
Then two.
And then... he gots da money!!!
You is our Andy Du-frayne!
I know Byfuglien is listed only as a Forward on NHL.com, FWIW. Not sure what Yahoo will do about that, but he may lose D eligibility.

I believe so.
I've been all over that website and can't say I've ever recalled seeing a dual eligibility for any player.
Loui Eriksson & Patrick Sharp have probably been the poster boys over the years for dual.
Neither has dual.
On a full page of players, by alphabetical search, you won't find a dual (I believe).

And James Neal has long been listed as LW, incorrectly, on NHL.com
http://www.nhl.com/ice/player.htm?id...vid=nhl-search
And he still is.
Of note: The Pens own page for him had it right. RW

Of note:
NHL.com does have a direct link to Yahoo! Fantasy Hockey.
And when the NHL.com "fantasy" gurus discuss players, they do so noting Yahoo! positions.
So - it would be interesting if they had any insider knowledge.
They've actually already posted their "Top 200" for standard 6x4 format.
But, they said they'd attend to position-by-position "closer to training camp" (i.e. Once Yahoo! opens and they can view positional eligibility)

Interestingly enough, each players Yahoo page only lists one position as well.
James Neal for example:

Byfuglien:

One note:
NHL.com has Brent Burns listed at D, where the Sharks have declared to use him. (though, perhaps the Sharks website never changed him over in the first place.???)
http://sharks.nhl.com/club/player.htm?id=8470613
Yahoo still has Brent Burns listed at RW, where he finished the season playing.

Another difference:
NHL.com with Zetterberg at LW.
http://www.nhl.com/ice/player.htm?id=8468083
Yahoo with Zetterberg at C.
