I am surprised he didn't sign another NHL contract. There was a lot of demand for him last year before the Leafs signed him. Must be going for that one last payday I guess. The NHL offers were probably for something near the league minimum or something.

No pressure, amazing place to live, and he's likely making good coin, so the cost of living in Switzerland won't hurt. I'd be awfully tempted to make that sort of decision if I was him, as well.

Was Ranger really that bad last season? I'd imagine there was some rust involved, he was a borderline top pairing guy in Tampa way back when.
