A lot of insiders say that Kane won't be traded because the price will be too high. I say bollocks to that. Everyone said Philly wouldn't trade Carter and Richards as they were too valuable. We've seen guys who are "too valuable to be traded" get traded recently, such as Tyler Seguin, Bobby Ryan and Jason Spezza. People were shocked about Kessel and Thornton being traded too.

I think someone is going to finally step up with a mega offer for Kane, and I see it happening in the next 365 days (allowing for the possibility it happens at the 2015 draft).

I think Detroit makes a play for him, and they have just enough depth to trade a guy like Tatar, Sheahan or (dare I say) Mantha + a pick in 2015 to get him. Let's face it, Winnipeg is going to be in tough to get fair market value for him with his poor attitude, and really what is "fair" if the guy doesn't want to be there.
Nah. You think a one-way coaster like Kane would sit well with Babcock who demands two-way excellence from everyone? Mantha is untouchable and besides, Detroit is desperate for right-handed, puck-moving D, not even more forwards.

I think that's overblown a bit. The kid has talent, and Detroit could shape him up real quick. Doubt he goes there though.

Kane is decent defensively, and he's a pretty good penalty killer (his speed closes gaps very quickly, and he's a breakaway threat). His main issue is patience in the offensive zone and creativity, but he's shown flashes of both, and playing with a reasonable talent could remedy those shortcomings. In WPG that talent would most likely be Scheifele, maybe Perreault.

Sounds like it's only a matter of time before he's moved, but I doubt Chevy deals him without a big return. Hopefully Kane can (more or less) shut up and play until his wishes are obliged.

I figure the Jets would want a comparable young talent in return, or a couple solid 3rd/borderline 2nd line players (maybe some draft picks going either way). Their depth up front really hurts them. The player(s) involved would have to be young-ish, as well. A decent comparable could be the Nash deal to NY, just in terms of how that deal was structured (arguably helped both teams, and really helped CB's depth).

As for in goal, Pavelec is a poor starter until further notice, but the Jets' prospects in goal are fairly solid, with Comrie, Hutchinson and Hellebuyk in the pipeline.

    Then switch Galchenyuk to center.
    Eller could fill Plekanec's role.

I'm not NHL gm, so this is wishful thinking from a Habs fan...
Ahhhhh. That was so cute! Lol

I still don't get that, I never said anything about Legwand here. I was misquoted.

Couldn't agree more. Too much of a Prima Donna. No question, the kid has a ton of talent, but at what cost? I think he is a player that might not be worth the drama. Pass...
