    Default Potential Kopitar Trade

Hey guys. Wanting to get some feedback on an offer I received for Kopitar.

    My: Kopitar
    for
    His: Kuznetsov
    B. Schenn
    2015 2nd Round Entry Pick
    R. Barber

I'm high on Kopitar, but both Kuznetsov and Schenn are young guys with a lot of potential on a semi-rebuilding team. 2nd round pick would most likely be middle of the pack (16-20) in a pretty solid 2015 draft class. Riley Barber is pretty much a toss in, a promising underrated 6th round pick from 2012.

Do you think I can get more for Kop or do you think this is a decent return? Thanks!

Kopitar is young enough and has a hell of a lot more than potential, if you are only semi-rebuilding i am not sure why 26 is old

I'm not saying 26 is old at all, nor am I shopping Kopitar. This GM just seems to really want him and keeps sending offers.

Rarely do you win the trades where the best player is moved. That wouldn't be enough for me to move him in a 10 man keeper league.

that deal doesn't look to me like that GM wants him to be honest with you

just because someone keeps sending offers doesn't mean you need to entertain them

if you aren't shopping Kopitar then just tell him you aren't shopping Kopitar

Would Brayden Schenn and Kuznetsov even be keepers for you cause they might not be good enough for the other guy as he's consolidating his final keepers.

I don't plan to move him, but figured I'd throw it out here and see what feedback I got.

Its not a horrible starter offer but you should definitely see if you can gut this guy. Aim high. If he is in love with Kopitar he is likely to go farther to get him. Like the wise Gainerama said this is a common type of trade done to consolidate high-value players that goes down before keepers are declared.

I own Kopitar too and I would not trade him for this for sure

Schenn is for me 60 pts guy like there is alot in the NHL
and no Garanty Kuznetsov become a 85 pts guy... he could really well be a 50-55 pts guy but Kopitar is way better

    Keep Kopitar for now

Yeah I hear ya. Keepers were declared last month, so it's not necessarily that. Both Schenn and Kopitar were farm eligible, at that time, so he didn't have to use keeper slots on them. I believe Kuznetsov will still be farm eligible after this season, but I don't believe Schenn would be.

I wouldn't move Kopitar for this package - I would want a good deal more than what's being offered.
