Ryan Johansen is the 1st one that comes to mind.
I am just doing some analysis on how to identify future breakout or bounce back players and wanted to get some ideas on who were guys who fit that description this past season.
Who were players that either broke out this year, or experienced a resurgence in their game after a let down season the year before.
I am going to do my own poking around as well, but figured I could use the Dobber Hive Mind to work with me on this as well.

Great lists everyone! That gives me some names to dig into. Thanks.
Ryan Jo is a good one. Can't leave out Jenner after seeing how those two connected in the playoffs especially in leagues that count HITS! I've said it enough, but I feel he very well may be the 2nd coming of Lucic.

It's complicated by the fact that last season was a lockout, so smaller sample sizes and all that.
What about players like:
F
Matt Calvert
Bryan Little
Cam Atkinson
Jakub Voracek
Mikael Backlund
Artem Anisimov
Marcus Kruger
D
Tyson Barrie
Chris Tanev
Some of these guys started their breakout in the lockout, and some of them had marginal ones this season.
I'm trying to look at the significance of low offensive zone start vs high offensive zone finish players - and ones that are not pigeonholed as defensive forwards. So a guy like Kruger probably shouldn't be on the list. Stastny was another guy who did well in that regards.
Like I said, I think there is little to it, but it's an interesting thing to look at.
A guy like Burmistrov came out really well in that regards, but we don't have any non-KHL stats from the following year to connect the dots with.
When I look at the top players from this past season, it's basically strong defensively minded forwards who can also provide offense (Bergeron, O'Reilly, Pavelski, Granlund, Duchene, Backes), or checking forwards like Korpikoski/Craig Adams, or great defensive defensemen.
Basically a list of guy's who start in their own end buy end up at the other end of the ice more often than not. Probably not too useful for us fantasy guys, but helpful for real NHL GMs trying to identify players who can push the puck up the ice a bit more.
Thats a good list, what are your thoughts on Hanzal?
