great cap hit, terrible term. if he can play half as good as he did in the playoffs then it's a good signing.
wow. crazy long term.

7 years, not 7-years. Did Thomas Drance write that headline?
Good deal for both sides, I think. The last two years may be a bit iffy for Gabby's performance, but I think it'll turn out fine.
GO WINGS!
If it was 5 years, I'd say a perfect signing for them. crazy thing is, depending on the cap, Kings have 20 players signed at about 65 million. They could make some moves and get even better via free agency. As a Sharks fan, I'm terrified of that lol.

I'm not really a big fan of this as Gaborik had a great play off but hardly lit it up when he initially arrived - both small sample sizes but which is the true Gaborik for the kings? I think there are too many factors that means he WON'T be an offensive stud with the kings but we will see (right now a definite sell high for me)
Well that sure is sweet cap hit for the Kings.
The term is crazy but when you're a win-today team, you can worry about it in the future and just enjoy the moment right now.

Wow... as soon as I saw the thread title I thought... well, they must've gotten the cap hit down to $5m.
Good signing for the Kings short-term.
If it's working...
Funny how he performed well in LA looking for the payday. They're going to regret this one.
Seems like a great signing now but long term this is going to look really bad on the Kings books!!
Zorro says "vote for Dobber"
Angus is my best friend at dobberhockey..
He'll play a net total of 3-4 years worth of games for the kings...if he's lucky. I kinda agree with EV here. Too long. Show me what you can do next yet then maybe. Meh.
Term seems fine they don't take a cap hit if he walks half way right?!?
Gabs and Kopi! love it!

Sadly, the biggest reason I don't like this signing, is because it probably hurts Toffoli's chance to land a role in the Kings top 6...
Rylant
i am not so sure about this to be honest
this is a cap hit that cap increases actually can keep up with over the long haul
also keep in mind this is CBA approved so no recapture, if they have a deal worked out for him to retire early the hit comes off the books
yes it doesn't backdive like the old contracts did and he might stick around to get the $3m in the last year but we just don't know
health ends up being the big issue with this guy if anything, i think he will be productive enough for the cap hit towards the end of the deal
