Another unreal design!
How do you actually put them all together (design-wise)!?

Les Marmottes
For the most part, most of my designs have been quite serious looking since we began, it was quite nice a groundhog one popped up (see what I did there) to help showcase the other side of sports logos, which run rampant in the minor league systems…. The cartoon character.

From a design perspective, I chose to have the Marmot emerging from his hole in the ground, or if you’re a defensive minded type, he is protecting his hole from the enemy. Dressing him up in hockey gear is pretty self-explanatory.
The colours were chosen based on the marmot’s habitat. Dirt and grass. Brown is rarely used in jerseys (for good reason) however I feel it works great in this idea.

This one was fun from the start, there’s just something about an angry rodent that I enjoy making! Hope you enjoy.

Great question Dooley,

Varies from name to name, but in general the process is like this.

1. Get the name, look over the details provided to make sure to incorporate as much as possible for the client.
2. Run ideas through my head, write down the good ones.
3. make a few rough sketches of layout to see if any of the ideas work.
4. Gather source material > usually try and find 5-6 different elements to work from.
5. Check internet to see if idea has been done before > if so what elements from their logo worked great? Change idea if its too close to someone elses.
6. draw logo(s) > modify and tweak
7. Establish colours and line patterns and font > change a thousand times
8. happy with it, leave it for a couple days > come back > modify again

finally finish.

9. After posting, critique it and think I should have done this/that. (every designer's inner problem)

I find it super interesting how it all comes together, I use photoshop for a lot of our web stuff at work but it's mostly just editing and doing brochures and web stuff!
Never been able to figure out how to create something in my head from scratch!
