He won't sign for the amount of money a third or fourth liner would get. Look what Briere and Lecavalier both got. If anything, he'll command the same type of money Callahan is commanding. They're the same age (29) are are former captains and play a similar style. But Richards has been better offensively in his career and has two Stanley Cups (in a couple of days, anyway).

Darren Dreger reports the LA Kings don’t want to buy out Mike Richards as they would have to replace him, yet Richards doesn’t want to be a fourth-line center. The Kings are expected to push Richards to improve his strength and conditioning but he might be unwilling to follow the path the Kings want.

He is just as dirty. People like him so they call it hard-nosed. People dislike Cooke so they call him dirty. Richards will take every opportunity he gets to knee/spear/slash/blindside someone

i highly doubt mrichards will be a 4th line center long-term. his effectiveness has not been as good for months now but i think its more than likely its due to some ridiculously debilitating injury like a sports hernia, knee sprain or both.
One day I will quit fantasy hockey, today is not that day.

2. David Booth is made of glass. It is known.
3. Patrick Kaleta is a douche. Any hockey players that see him coming should be prepared/allowed/expected to defends themselves with an elbow. It is known.
4. You'd be surprised... as evaluators of Matt Cooke go... if you draw up the spectrum, I'll be closer to the wrong side (those hockey persons that actually LIKE parts of his game. I went to high school with Cooke, FYI).
