Default 2008 entry draft help needed

    Hello all:

I am in a keeper league that involves farm teams. Our entry draft is coming in July with basically the players to be picked are the ones just drafted in the NHL draft.

We are a 12 team league and I have the 6th, 7th and 8th pick overall.

In a league were goals are worth 1 and assists are worth .5, please help me out and rank the current draft players from a keeper standpoint.

    Thank you

3 firsts in a row huh? Nice work, man...I\'m in a similar situation, I have the 1st, 4th, and 14th picks, and i have a few potential deals that may net me the 3rd overall and move me up from 14th to 8th. Anyway, here\'s my top 14 (I\'m in a 14-team league)..

    1. Stamkos
    2. Filatov
    3. Doughty
    4. Bogosian
    5. Boedker
    6. Pietrangelo
    7. Wilson
    8. Hodgson
    9. Eberle
    10. Boychuk
    11. Beach
    12. Tedenby
    13. Colborne
    14. Bailey/Pickard?

    Just my opinion

I really like Bogosian, but don\'t see the fantasy value compared to what he will be in real life.

Not a fan of Eberle at all. Colborne is a huge project.

Depends on what you need. For Forwards, I\'d take Boaedker, Hodgson and Wilson in that order.

For D-men, let\'s say Schenn is still going to be there, or maybe pietrangelo. I like Sbisa and Cuma a lot too. And if you\'re looking to hit a home run, I\'d tell you to take a chance and go of the boards and draft del zotto at 8.

Del Zotto will slip and I like his chances and could be a great steal. Schenn should be left off everyones list as he is not a fantasy commodity in a pts only but a real life stud.

Fabulous help. Thank you. Where do you guys think Brunnstrom ranks with these prospects? Does he crack the top 8?

depends if your looking to win next year (take Brunnstrom in the top 8) or win in the future/ have the depth to wait on the prospect for a few years (Brunnstrom not in the top 8)

Brunnstrom is a bit of a wild card. Unfortunately he may be a victim of the great white hype as he got a lot of publicity during the season. He had a good season in the SEL (54-9-28-37) and a big season in Allvenska in 2006-7, Swedish equivalent to the AHL (41-37-36-73).

He may be the next Jere Lehtinen playing along side Richards or he may be the next Perttu Lindgren. That being said, I\'d rank him as follows...

    11-Wilson
    12-Brunnstrom

He is a wild card but even if he\'s a bust his 10 pts or so will be more than the other guys who will not evem play. I would only pick him that high if your looking for pts next season.
