Carey Price OUT for rest of series

Watch the video. For the people who say that Kreider didn't do anything to avoid hitting Price, what was he supposed to do to avoid hitting him? Kreider goes down a couple of feet in front of Price and is sliding at 30 miles per hour. Once that happens, there is nothing he can do to avoid hitting Price. Didn't you guys go to Physics in high school? Did you expect Kreider to hit his breaks?

No question this injury to Price sucks and it is unfortunate, but it's not Kreider's fault.

I agree with Rylant. When you are flying at the speed he is going, his options are few as far as avoiding Price.

Patrick Roy is going to be the first great player-coach since Reg Dunlop.

I'd love it if that happened for the last five minutes of game if the backup and starter got injured. Or if Jokinen/Oshie becomes a coach, and the shootout goes 10 rounds, the coach will come on and score.

I'm unbiased in this too. I was ready to say it was a reckless play on Kreider's part till I saw the slash from Emilin. Kreider clearly falls after that. I just think it was an unfortunate hockey play.

Why wouldn't Dubnyk start? They traded for him in March from Nashville. I know he is a UFA in July but wouldn't he still be under contract till then or were they not allowed to put him on their playoff roster?

For the he was going too fast argument.. If that's the case and there is no way he could have stopped OR changed direction should he really be making that play? Reckless is right.

Watched the video a couple of times. The link below is a good one, especially late in the clip where it zooms in at the end to show Emelin's slash.

The slash wasn't heavy but it knocked Kreider off balance enough in my opinion where he couldn't avoid Price. Look at Kreider's skate and how it turns so he can't stop himself after the contact from Emelin's stick.

Also, Emelin and Weise got schooled on that play altogether, that breakaway should have never happened.

Rangers tend to struggle against rookie/new goalies so i am not surprised at the move by Therrien to be honest

I tend to agree. The play immediately reminded me of when Lucic ran Miller and the Sabres stood watching.. Except the Sabres hated Miller. Price is the beloved member of that locker room so I was shocked no one piled on Kreider. Literally shocked. This is plain ridiculous. The Rangers basically took out Montreal's MVP in one play. They'd have lost game 1 anyway, but this sets it up for a sweep or 5 game series. This is so ridiculous.

I agree. Regardless of what the intent was, he's the team's MVP and future. I would make sure their isn't even a hint of creating a precedent of net crashing.

It looked to me that, with Kreider's velocity and direction, he was going full bore right into the goal no matter what, he's just a couple of yards from the goal when he falls.
