after some chat he appeared to get offended by me saying the price was waaaay too high.

I can't begin to describe my frustration. The cheery on the top is he's the commish of this particular league.

Anyone else think this is a close to fair deal?

Man, that's possibly the worst thing I've ever seen. I thought I'd seen it all! That's actually so bad haha, like really really really bad. If he wanted ONE of Toews or Dougthy he would need to add significantly. I would consider Halak for Howard straight up fair. Howard is an average goalie on a team that isn't as good as it used to be. NYI will be getting around the same amount of wins IMO. Healthy Tavares will help lots.

I too am perplexed as to how your commish would find that offer fair. Even if it were a cap league... As Jordyr77 pointed out, maybe Halak vs Howard has potential, but then again, you have to consider that Mrazek is going to be breathing down Howards neck soon while Halak will have less competition, more so if the "Nilsson to SHL" rumors hold any truth.

This is funny. Because I am the Howard owner and that is not what I stated.

Not very Lehtonen and ramo available right now for trade, it's only an 18 team league.

Edit: not intended to be a "smear campaign", no idea what smh means but likely something derogatory. All I wanted to know was if I was right to think this was a terrible offer. Seems validated.

You targeted Howard. I targeted players on your team, but you did not target a center or D,an from my team, so that was the end of that until I see this stating that I want 3 players for Howard. I don't run that kind of league. Those type of trades destroy leagues.

Well that certainly changes things!

Howard vs Halak+Toews+Doughty = Ridiculous

Howard + center + d-man vs Halak + Toews + Doughty = Depends on the other players (but likely a downgrade on D though)

Yes hearing both sides to this negotiation changes things. I'm glad One87 was able to set the record straight that what the OP stated was not the entire offer and I agree that it was very misleading and I honestly don't even see what the purpose of Sasquatch's original post was when it wasn't accurate in what had been discussed between you.
