    Default San Jose goalie situation

I know its playoff time but does anyone see stalock stealing the #1 gig from niemi for next year or is this niemi's team?

It's Niemi's team, but he's a free agent after next summer. So if they decide Niemi isn't the man, then maybe. I think they re-sign him though.

Isn't Stalock a UFA due to GP?

It's a veteran team. Niemi has a cup in his pocket. He has a another year left on the contract. Stalock is RFA.

The crease in San Jose will belong to Niemi.

I believe Stalock qualifies for UFA status due to career GP. Regardless I don't think Niemi is in any danger anytime soon.

Neimi is the uncontested starter but Stalock will be decent if you need someone to fill in starts on occasion.
Neimi should play 60-65 games if healthy so 17-22 starts for the backup can have some value with a good team playing in front of them

I didn't watch the game last night, but purely from a stats point of view, Stalock had an average night - 26 saves on 30 shots; 0.866 SV%.

I would be shocked if they didn't go back to Niemi for game 7.
