18 player * 12 teams = 216 players gone. 3 top goalies and the best player in the league. Miller and Varly were surprises so to speak, but I can’t see his team’s 9th, 10th, and 11th keepers being better than Hartnell, Pominville, and Stepan (if he wants youth). If his keepers are that good, he’s one heck of a GM/Draft specialist.

it is a keeper league
a couple of seasons ago some GMs were worrying about Crosby's head and he was being sold off, hell i picked up Stamkos for a reasonable price in a keeper league this season when he got injured
a couple of seasons ago Price went in the tank pretty hard
Miller hasn't been a decent player in years and Varly wasn't a top goalie coming into this season
without seeing the other GMs team it is unfounded to just assume all of those players are better than his bottom players
How can you assume by the same points that his league didn’t start this yr? Or that he drafted the goalies instead of trading for them? He could have sent out good players for Miller once he got traded to St Louis expecting more. It’s an assumption that the guys team would benefit from having Hartnell and Pominville over his 10th and 11th keeper.

Drop those goalies.
In ROTO leagues, bad goalies on bad teams are worse than having a back-up.
In a 12-team league, I'd look to stream in back-ups from the best teams in the NHL.
They will give you an average-ish GAA/SV% with a great Wins per game ratio.
And since each team gets 164 goalie games... "Wins per Game" ratio is critical.
Load up on forward talent.
There is no problem with this.
Especially at LW, one of the thinner positions in fantasy hockey.
Pace above the GP in Yahoo! by as many as 5-10 at any forward slot.
Somebody will go down, get injured... and you'll be back on pace.
IF you are way above pace, you simply trade from a position of strength (forward) for a position of weakness (D & G).
You have SEVERAL bench positions here with only starting 2/2/2/4/2.
I would keep those 9F for your 6 slots.
In a draft, I'd be simply focused on getting best D possible in first two re-draft rounds.
Then I'd use the rest of the draft to slowly fill your bench with back-up goalies on good teams: C.Johnson (BOS), Zatkoff (PIT), Jake Allen (STL), Stalock (SJ), ANA's backups, LA's backups, Raanta (CHI), Talbot (NYR), Berra (COL).
When you have adequate bench slots - you can really, effectively, stream in back-up goalies to give you middling goalie stats.
Middling goalie stats in 4 categories to go with Top Three skater stats in 6 categories will make you a top THREE team in this league.
That would be my strategy.

I would definitely trade Wheeler & Kuznetsov for either goalie.
Varly & the Avs are set up better for long-term winning success...
But Price, I believe, is the safer goalie.
I think somebody would be nuts to take Wheeler/Kuznetsov for Price - but if he's up for it... take Price.
Even Wheeler/Kuznetsov for Varly is a good return.
Even Wheeler/Drouin for Price or Varly is fair return.

Does Price instead of streaming 3 backups on good teams improve my team more than drouin/Kuz ( not sure how many game either gets next year on my team) but years after they will fit nicely .

Since this is ROTO... and since Drouin/Kuz are young... I see you in a great win-now mode with this roster.
I'd trade those two for Price, yes.
Top tier goalies are very valuable in ROTO.
Price is a top five fantasy goalie, I think... especially in ROTO.
C- Stamkos, Mackinnon Stepan
LW- Hall JVR Hartnell
RW- Wheeler Voracek Pominville
D- Subban Reilly
G- Lehner
You'd have to pick one of Reilly, Hartnell, Pominville, or Stepan to leave off your team going with this setup. You'd be jettisoning Ward so if there's a franchise goalie with that #1 pick you could opt in that direction. I don't know the type of talent that will be available with your pick.
