Thanks!

Nash for sure. I do really like Wheeler, but Nash has big upside and loads of skill if he can ever figure out how to put up points again. Wheeler is younger I believe so if you want youth go that route. I have always loved Green's upside, but I've tempered expectations significantly. I still go Green because it's hard to say if Niskanen will replicate these numbers, especially when Letangs back

I would stubbornly keep Nash even though Wheeler is outperforming him. He always seems to leave you wanting more but he should be a perennial threat, and he puts up insane SOG numbers.

I may be the odd one out here but I vote for Wheeler (and even Iginla) before Nash. Lets not forget Nash is now playing for NYR, which is quite a deep team and spreads it scoring around (MSL, Stepan, Zucc, B Richards, Brassard, an emerging Kreider, Hagelin) and I do not expect him to get back to his career best 79 points (achieved only once - for CBJ where he was the top dog).
Furthermore, with signs progressively showing that E Kanes days in the Peg are numbered, I expect Wheeler to get more offensive responsibilities.
I would choose him (and even Iginla - who has obvious chemistry with Krejci and Lucic) over Nash.

I love Wheeler, but I'm not sure I agree. The league counts points and shots - not hits. Right there, Wheeler is at a big deficit as Nash takes about 4 shots per game - huge. While Nash won't ever get 79 points again, he put up 44 in 48 games last year on this deep Rangers team. Wheeler has never cracked 70 points, and won't really improve as he wasn't losing ice time to Kane to begin with and he's not magically finding another gear at the age of 28. Go with the guy that has hit 70 points before, had a strong season last year, and gets the guaranteed category win: Shots.
With Kessel, Benn, Seguin, Tavares and E Staal, he already has studs when it comes to SOG. He even has one of the highest shooting Ds in Yandle, so not sure why he needs Nash to win SOG. All of Nash's "almost 70" pt seasons have been with CBJ. Nash is an awesome player and I like him a lot, but he is not a 70 point player anymore especially for NYR - I see him to be more in the 60 range or thereabouts.
I just don't see Nash being the go to guy in NYR with folks like MSL and Stepan around. Wheeler on the other hand, although he has not had a 70 pt season yet, according to me, has the opportunity to break out and achieve it next season.

I agree with jcairns. While Nash and Wheeler are closer now then they ever have been, and it's possible Wheeler out scores him, the difference will likely not be large. Combine that with Nash having shown a higher ceiling and the boost in shots, he is the better keeper option. Nash also retains more name value then Wheeler should you want to trade either of them.
