    Default DeKeyser vs. Vatanen

Trying to see if it may be worth grabbing DeKeyser. Vatanen is one guy I may need to drop. League stats in signature.

I could also drop Bolland, Colborne, Lazar, or Burakovsky.

I guess the question is - for next two years after this (with some consideration of upside for the prospects), would you rather have DeKeyser to replace any of:

Vatanen, Bolland, Colborne, Lazar, or Burakovsky?

If so, who would you drop?

    What's your whole roster?

On a blind look, I take DeKeyser over all of them.

I think Vatanen will eventually put up more points per season than DeKeyser, but that only helps you if you are in a points only league. DeKeyser will be the better choice if you count PIM, +/- or blocked shots.

    Bottleneckers (12/16 in 2022)
    16 team, points only. G: 2-W, 4-SO.
    Top 9F, 4D & 1G . Keep 15, Max 23
F: J. Robertson, J. Hughes, Tavares, Lafreniere, Cozens, Newhook, Teravainen, Domi, R. Strome, Laine, Rossi, Raymond, Holtz, Perfetti
    D: Bouchard, McAvoy, Morrissey, Heiskanen
    G: Vasilevskiy

Do you have a minors system at all or are guys like Lazar and Burakovsky sitting on your bench?

Looking at your league setup, I wouldn't drop Vatanen for DeKeyser. Vatanen has played in 15 less games this year over DeKeyser, has almost the same number of points, SOG, PIMs and is a similar +/-. He also has more PPP then Dekeyser with those fewer games. I don't think Dekeyser has much for offensive upside, hes more of an all around, shutdown type of D.

Without seeing the rest of your lineup to see if you really need D or need to keep guys like Bolland or Colborne, I cant say much more then that.

No way I drop Vatanen for DeKeyser though.

Thanks guys. For those that asked:

No Farm System. My team is low in the standings. I had some depth players I dropped for futures (like Lazar, Teravainen, Burakovsky, Vatanen) a while back when I fell out of contention. Here is my current full lineup:

    Forwards:
Stamkos, Glencross, Bolland, Alfredsson, Dubinsky, Kessel, E. Kane, St. Louis, Bergeron, Monahan, Stone, Silfverberg, Teravainen, Lazar, Burakovsky

    Defense:
    S. Weber, Faulk, Campbell, Wisniewski, Vatanen

    Goalie:
    Fleury, Hiller, Andersen, Lehner

I am short on defense to start, but it is not necessary to fill all spots, and it gives me an extra forward to work with. Defense need to be fairly productive in a few categories to make them worthwhile because of this.
