5 point night the other day.
13 points (7 goals) in his last 7 games for Texas.
Chances this guy makes the real Stars next season?

With Whitney maybe gone, uncertainty around Peverley and Cole not that effective, the opportunity should be their for Ritchie to claim a spot.
I'm glad I held on to this kid. Midway through this season he looked like a drop candidate for me, but I stuck with him.
GO WINGS!
I was just thinking the same thing ^^

Brett Ritchie has been excellent this season... he would be point per game had he not been reduced to a 2nd line role starting the season and limited PP time... If you check out the Texas Stars they are one of the top 2 most offensive teams in the AHL by a wide margin (B-Sens the other) and their call ups have been excellent for Dallas... Brett's size, composure and abilities with the puck make him an excellent player to hold or nab next season... An under the radar guy to watch is Curtis Mackenzie from Dallas, Remi Elie and Radek Faksa are the other top prospects but just entering pro (Elie still has year of Jr left) and need to spend a year like Ritchie did... but Mackenzie has really put himself on the scene with a great AHL rookie season for a 6th round pick!
Current Roster:
F: H Sedin, Plekanec, Perry, Cammalleri, Oshie, Stepan, Anisimov, Kunitz, Justin Williams, Little, Baertchi, Huberdeau, Eberle, Rattie, Hoffman, Holland, Horvat, Dano, Dal Colle, Kerdiles
D: Boumeester, Green, Carlson, Del Zotto, Myers, Alzner, M Staal, Pouliot, Gormley, Mueller
G: Varlamov, Mrazek, Niemi, Vasilevski, Ramo, Hellebuyck
I think Ritchie likely starts the season in the AHL next year. Dallas doesn't have a lot of roster spots open and he's not going to toil on the 4th line, not in the Jim Nill era.
A lot of variables comes into play but he's a promising looking prospect who should be on the radar. Watch come training camp.
Nice finish for Ritchie to the Calder Cup! Couple of points in the final for a strong finish -- he was injured for a round or so it seems as well, so who knows how that affected him.
