I like Trouba here. He shoots a lot for d-man, hits, blocks, and racks up some decent PIMs.
Which young stud has the better long-term outlook in a roto league (G, A, PIM, PPP, SHP, SOG, HIT, BLK) - Huberdeau or Trouba?
I like Trouba here. He shoots a lot for d-man, hits, blocks, and racks up some decent PIMs.
Hard to bet against a forward when the other guy is on the blueline, but with all those other categories, I think Trouba is your man here

It's always hard to evaluate a F to a D, but pretty much impossible without knowing the number and type starting positions, number of teams etc.

Yeah, it all depends on the rest of your team, amount of keepers, roster makeup, etc. I voted for Huberdeau because typically stocking up on elite F options is the way to go in my opinion. You can use your D slots for cheap Hits/Blks/PIM types while focusing on the best possible offensive Forwards. For that reason, I chose Huberdeau because of his upside, performance on a bad team as a rookie, potential future linemates (Barkov, Bjugstad, Trocheck, etc.), and dual positional eligibility (C,LW) in yahoo leagues -- also because he's a Forward.

I'm going with Trouba as I think he has more potential to be an all round elite roto player than Huberdeau

I will go with Trouba here, due to your league categories.
I will say that in a points only league keeper, Huberdeau is a pretty solid buy low candidate right now.

Shocked that there's so much love for Trouba here. Many strategies I know focus on scoring forwards and fill out defenses with cheap and affordable guys to give them their peripheral stats.
In a couple years, I think there will be very few leagues where Trouba's value is at all close to Huberdeau's.
I like Trouba. I think he will tick all the bases. next year 15G, 25A, 15PPP, 2SHP, 150SOG, 100+ HIT, 130+ BKS. That is a real solid fantasy player. Those are conservative estimates as well. I think he could score more than that. He'll end up being a regular 50+ pt guy eventually.
