Gosh - I rarely find anybody (ANYBODY!) that identifies a hockey player's on-ice smarts/vision/IQ and will talk about it.
And when I do... it surprises me if I agree with them.

Steen is one of my favourites in the NHL and I've long professed a love for his "hockey sense" (the term I use).

What makes Steen so special is that he has a work ethic to match his IQ.
He is a tremendously underrated player - always has been.
People look at his offensive numbers this year and consider him overrated, but Blues fans know the truth.

The Blues have a young player who has a lot of similarities to Steen...
He can't match Steen's physical play, but his IQ and work ethic are in the same tier.

Lol, we have a few of those players in our system. Jaskin may end up being more of a Berglund but has the potential to be Steen-esque, Schwartz and Tarasenko are already making it happen, and Ty Rattie will be just like Jaden Schwartz/Alexander Steen so things are definitely on the up and up for the Blues moving forward!
