My thought too, don't think he is a good fit in Nashville. sure has fallen out of favour. maybe a late pick in my deep draft next year, just in case.
Is it time to give up on this guy or what?? Will he ever be a 40+ point d-man ever again??

It's all in the air right now. Clearly Nashville isn't his last stop. But will his next destination be any better? It's not like he is going to have a lot of leverage.

Trotz is not a fan as far as I am aware.
Would love to see him go this summer together with something else to the Oilers for a forward such as Eberle
Over my dead body. I was a GM, I wouldn't touch this guy if he was on waivers.....he's not a good defenceman, and certainly not the type we need here in EDM.
If NSH wants an Eberle, they are gonna have to part with a better dman than a MDZ or Ryan Ellis. #5-6 dmen (which we have like 8 of already) aren't going to land you a top-3 forward, I don't care who you package it with.

Ryan Ellis would most definitely be a package the Oilers would consider for Eberle I am afraid.
He is only 5-6 D, because of the depth we have at the position.
He is young, and will be #1-2 pairing in time. No question about it.
Del Zotto I'll agree on, but as a preds fan I would love to see a package go to your Oilers around Del Zotto rather than Ellis.
We need big, physical, 2-way dmen that are strong in their own end. Neither Ellis or MDZ fit that mold. Ellis is an undersized PP specialist-type dman who is very suspect in his own end.....we have that already in Shultz.
In division, we gotta go against the huge, skilled, physical forwards of ANA, SJ, LA every night.......Ellis isn't gonna cut it as a top-2 dmen in the Pacific division ever, he'd get eaten alive.

Anyhow, back to MDZ......I owned hi in the past and watched a ton of him when he was in NY. I cut bait a couple of year ago when it was apparent that his 40 point season was never likely to happen again due to the deficiencies in his defensive game. He's terrible in his own end, when the Rangers dealt him, it was a matter of addition by subtraction. I wouldn't advocate anyone to hold onto him at this point.
