One other reason that no one has said yet, is reliance on the team. Rask is great as long as he's boston's starter. If he were to get traded to buffalo, he'd be instantly worthless. Crosby, on the other hand, would still score 100 points as a Sabre. So, injuries aside, he's a safer bet to remain #1 for a long long time.

Welcome to the boards Flo! What's more amazing is that he has done it in 5 out of his 7 seasons. The ones where he missed the mark were the long term concussion symptoms and the lockout shortened seasons.
