Who do you prefer Huberdeau - Granlund

Who would you bank on for the next 3 years? What kind of numbers do you think they'll put up?

This is a great question, worthy of a poll. Granlund is proven and has an upside in the high 80s, but he gets hurt a lot. Huberdeau is less proven, but higher upside and doesn't get injured really. I think I'd rather have Huberdeau...but I own Granlund and would not trade him for Huberdeau. So go figure

Huberdeau for me. I see 70-80 pt potential for Granlund, and 78-85 for Huberdeau. Factor in Huberdeau's better category contribution in shots and hits, and he comes out ahead for me.

But then one has to factor in that Granlund will be playing beside Parise, Pominville (this year)...and potentially with Moulson, Vanek as well.....and that has to beat who Huberdeau will be with, as good as Barkov and Bjugstad may eventually become.

I actually traded both away this season for veteran scoring in a push to win my pool, so I'm planning to never read this thread again...in case I get angry and hit myself in the face.

It's weird for me to say, but I am tempted to say Granlund at this point. His growing pains will be somewhat insulated being on the better team and though there is much of Florida I like, I don't like the fact that it might take them a while to get where they need to as a franchise. I would bet on Granlund for the foreseeable future (which, IMO, is all you should bet on in fantasy hockey).

Granlund for me

I have him in my full keeper, and wouldn´t trade him for huberdeau straight up. he´s in a great spot in minnesota and has already taken over top line duties from koivu, not sure if he will hold on to that coming next season, but top 6 is a lock for granlund. the wilds top 6 is a way better surrounding than the panthers top 6

I like Hubs here...and also think Grandlund is slightly overrated on these boards. I see him more as a 65-70 point guy then an 80 point guy.

Huberdeau for me also, but as others have said, the next couple years may see Granlund as the better option. Long-term, however, I definitely like Huberdeau more.

If someone would have asked me this at the beginning of the season I would have said Huberdeau. As the year progressed and saw what Granlund has done and the situation he is in at Minny, I like Granlund next couple of years. However, they will be both great players in this league for a long time.

I own both. I honestly wouldn't trade one for the other. Last year I felt better about Hubs, this year I feel much better about Granlund. Hubey's over a year younger and that's a lot of time for kids this young. Granlund's young too as a fresh 22 year old so he's no where near completion either.

I will say this though if you are in a position to compete anything soon I would go with Granlund if you had to absolutely pick between 1 of the 2. If not I think they both have similar point potential which is realistically 70-85 over the prime of their careers if they both work out - which I am pretty positive will happen.

I'm all for Granlund here. I'm not a fan of Huby at all right now, given his current situation in Florida. Granlund has the chance to be a real fantasy force for many years if Minnesota can keep luring big names to their team.
