Giordano's career trend is pretty simple: he can get production spikes but most of it is mediocrity. He might still do well but I would not bet on this rate continuing. Play the odds.
He Is scoring at a high rate this year. Can he do this next year? We only keep 6. He keeps this up, he going make it hard to not keep him. Any thoughts on him doing this next year. Thanks

Sell high while you can, but I do think he can be a valuable defensive asset moving forward. It'll just depend on your league categories. Bouwmeester leaving Calgary really helped Gio's place on the team.
Just noticed this the other day too. Pretty incredible, his 82 game stats would be something around:
60Pts, 88Pims, 220 Shots and a positive plus minus. That would be a #1 D man in most formats (of course the sample size this year is a bit smaller than other guys).
Next year he'll likely be the main guy in Calgary - adjusting for some expected regression here and there I would look for 55Pts and 200-220 shots.
Hope that helps!
I once traded Henrik Lundqvist and Ilya Kovalchuk in return for Peter Budaj and Henrik Zetterberg… have lived in shame ever since.

I would keep Suter/ OEL over Giordano. Like the others suggested, I would use him as trade bait. Perhaps package him with Mason to upgrade your goaltending for example.

SELL HIGH. Giordano is not a 60-point Dman; he's not a 50-point Dman. Hell, he might not even be a 40-point Dman. Translate this production spike into some value, methinks.

I really like Giordano in my league because he is cheap and produces way above average for that salary . In another league , I would try to sell high for sure .

He's the product of his environment. Calgary doesn't have a lot of guys that can score so Giordano does what he's asked to do which right now is to create offense. He's being given every opportunity as the #1 PP and SH dman that plays top minutes. Enjoy the ride as a Giordano owner...if he goes to Pittsburgh or San Jose don't expect him to thrive with high-powered offenses.
