This changes nothing really for the Washington goalie situation. It is just as cloudy as always. Now they have Halak and Holtby to be 1A/1B with Grabauer waiting to step in when required.
Maybe someday Washington will have an undisputed #1 goalie.

If Halak couldn't run with the undisputed starting gig in St. Louis, he won't get that chance in Washington either. He will certainly get his chance, but he will struggle with injuries and inconsistency like he always does and Holtby will still play. I see a tandem situation happening.
That is assuming Washington re-signs him next year, which I'm sure they will try to do.

You're giving Holtby way too much credit here SeaDawg... something tells me you haven't been following the shit show that's been Washington's goalie situation all year.
Given Holtby's inconsistencies they're going to give Halak every opportunity to run with it from now till the end of the season.
