Voynov vs Yandle
In a pts-only cap league, for next year and future years.
I know Yandle is much better this year (40 points to 23) but starting next year, do you guys see the gap closing?
Voynov's getting paid 3M$ and 4,2M$ in the next two years while Yandle would cost me 5,5M$ and 5,75M$. The salary saved would definitely help me since I've got a lot of high-paid players (Crosby, Tavares, Couture, Karlsson, Hall) but is it worth it?
I've been offered Voynov straight up for Yandle but I'm definitely going to ask for some draft picks to sweeten the deal.

Yandle and it's not even close. Voynov is never going to be a 50+ point dman. Yandle can put up 50+ in Phoenix, and if he ever gets traded to an offensive team, he could put up 60+.

If you absolutely NEED the cap-space, and the additional assets involved are substantial enough to overcome the roughly 10-15 point difference between average seasons for these two Dmen, then you could consider it. But right now Yandle <-> Voynov isn't gonna cut it.

The fact that it is a points league definitely helps Voynov (since yandles SOG aren't in play). That said, Yandle could still be a 50+ point man, while Voynov is looking closer to 35 at the moment. Even with the salaries taken into account Yandle seems to be the better asset.
I would be looking for a significant pick or prospect coming your way too.
I once traded Henrik Lundqvist and Ilya Kovalchuk in return for Peter Budaj and Henrik Zetterberg… have lived in shame ever since.
