Easy pick (or not): Staal or Spezza?

Points only. Keeper. I'm in trade talks for Staal and Spezza (different owners). Both would cost me the same thing. Need to chose. Spezza or Staal in a points only keeper? Thanks

I'd go with the guy who consistently gets 70 points, regardless of how he starts off the year.

Staal is the easy choice for me, especially because of how well Turris is playing.

Staal for me as well. Also less injury prone than Spezza.

In a points only you can neglect PPG if the guy with the higher % is always hurt. Production over potential usually wins a points only pool.

Spezza for me. His cuts and scraps are all healed. If he isin't already, he's very close to being a point per game player. Hard to find these guys. Staal comes alive in the second half of most seasons, but where is he in the first half?

unless the guy you replace Spezza with while injured can put up that pace as well the percentage is pretty irrelevant until Spezza can prove he can make an 82 game season a couple of times in a row

I love Eric and in points only you don't have to deal with his -/- issues ( no plus) value added if you can bench Eric for the first month or so. It's possible he out points Spezza's whole season just from all star break on. Since Spezza will miss time and staal has monster second halves. But what do I know.

Also using percentages means that staal only needs to play 10 more games than Spezza to make him a better own. I like Spezza but I love staal.

Spezza is the better player here but their is the injury issue as mentioned above. He's looking good this year (as expected) and should continue to put up points if he could stay off the IR. I'd take the chance on Spezza.
