So long as we have Chris "Big Game" Kunitz on the top line we'll be fine!
Hi friends - thoughts on what line combos Babs rolls out? Keep in mind TSN.ca is reporting that Tavares is out of the tournament with a knee injury.
Also, which line squares off against which US line?

honestly at this point I'm betting the lines stay the same, but throw Duchene in at centre on the 4th line with Sharp and Nash on the wings, and St. Louis as 13th forward. might not play them as much in the next game though.
I would rather Kunitz not be here but he did have his best game of the tourney and I don't imagine they'll break up him and Crosby now.
As long was Weber and Doughty score a couple of goals, Canada should be able to keep it close. They should just move the Crosby line to 4th line so they can stay out of the way.

Do we have a fourth line? I mean in terms of ice time has there been a big difference? I can't seem to find box scores that track ice time.
I would think there will be more shuffling than simply swapping Duchene for Tavares. Those two play completely different styles.
I'd like to see Bergeron back to his natural C position on the "4th" line and Duchene play wing to Crosby/Kunitz.

Lines against the US:
Kunitz-Crosby-Duchene/Carter
Benn-Getzlaf-Perry (plays against the Backes line?)
Marleau-Toews-Nash (plays against the Kessel line?)
Sharp-Bergeron-Carter/Duchene
13th F: MSL
D looks more or less settled:
Keith - Weber
Vlasic - Doughty
J Bo - AP
7th D: Hamhuis
Much tougher to comment on PP line-ups since they have not clicked at all.
Thoughts?

I have really liked Marleau's game.
Not related to the above comment but Just throwing this out there , do you think Crosby was the right choice for captain?

Team US also did some line juggling of their own so tough to do match-ups.
Backes centered Callahan and Brown
Kesler centered Parise and Kane (but also centered Kessel and JVR. In fact, as soon as Parise left the ice after shift 2 in P1, JVR jumped on the ice to replace him on the line with Kesler and Kane and scored the first goal)
Pavelski centered Kessel and JVR
Stastny centered Oshie and Pacioretty
Wheeler was the 13th F but played only 1:39
Stepan was left out.
For the D core:
Suter - McDonagh
Orpik - Martin
Shattenkirk - Fowler
Carlson was the 7th D and Faulk was scratched.

Crosby and Team Canada are in for their toughest test against the Americans. They have an awesome collection of players who have some grit to their game to go along with talent. With Quick in net, Canada will have to press the Americans only "weak" (and I use that term very loosely) spot, the defense. Whoever wins this game "should" be the favourite for Gold, however, will the Gold Medal game be a letdown after what will hopefully be an awesome semi-final game. Go Canada Go!

I'm all aboard the Canadian bandwagon (hell I have $100 riding on it), but my prediction is that we get spanked by the Americans tomorrow. 4-2.
