Nyquist
Strombe
no chance in hell that I give you my Nyquist for Strome. I don't see much difference in the futures, except that Nyquist looks like he has one for sure. Strome hasn't proven he can play in the NHL just yet IMO.

I would not trade my Strome for Nyquist although since I drafted him as a prospect a couple summers ago maybe I'm a bit biased! But I will never get over how poolies fall in love with Wings prospect after Wings prospect and speculate that they are the next Datsyuk or Zetterberg. Nyquist, I think best case scenario he ends up like Hudler, which is a solid fantasy option but Strome IMO has the potential to be very special. Although Nyquist's latest run makes me wonder if I'm short-changing him. Should be interesting to see.
Nyquist with another goal tonight; he's widening the gap big time right now.

Nyquist was always the better guy to go with in the short term so in that sense yes he is proving it and some. He's been very impressive. But not sure how you can say he is widening the gap if you are talking about the OP's "next year and beyond", which I take to mean long-term keeper value. Nyquist is 24 and Strome is 20, so it's really hard to compare. What kind of numbers will Strome be putting up 4 years from now at age 24? He's got 13 points in 28 games this season in the NHL and he put up awesome numbers in the AHL, which was an impressive transition from juniors. The choice was and is still tough. If you're someone that needs the player in question to help them win next season by all means they should go with the more proven Nyquist, but his hot streak hasn't changed my view that Strome is the better long-term play. Strome hasn't done anything to this point to make me doubt that he has the upside that I thought he had when he was drafted.
All Nyquist does is score goals. He's looking every bit the part in terms of the changing of the guard in Detroit over the next few seasons. Kid is fun to watch too!

Nyquist is God! Lol at people thinking he needed Zetterberg to produce!
The goose is loose!
these polls are pretty pointless when one guy is currently much more developed and on a hot streak...of course he will win the poll
