[Update: Superstar trade] 4 for 4 including Crosby/Stamkos

Sorry I know I just made a thread not to long ago asking for opinions, I don't mean to spam but the trade has changed significantly and it should be the final form of the trade.

Points Scoring

Skaters: G(3), A(2), PPP/SHG/GWG/DEF(+1), hits/shots/blocks(0.2)
Goalie: W(5), SO(3), SV(.2), GA(-1.5)

The Trade

A) Sidney Crosby, Marian Gaborik, Craig Anderson, Jason Varrison
B) Steven Stamkos, Ryan Getzlaf, Semyon Varlamov, Mike Green

My Opinion

Crosby > Stamkos
Gaborik << Getzlaf
Anderson >> Varlamov
Varrison < Green

The biggest uncertainties for me is what sort of production Green will have on Washington (been sort of slow) vs how long Varrison will be able keep his up or how low it will go when he cools off.

I think I'm selling Varlamov quite high in this deal as I believe Anderson to be superior and I dont think Colorado can keep up the pace and varlamov HAS to cool off, but you never know he may keep up a moderately strong pace all season long, goaltending is quite scarce in our league

Getzlaf has been a monster so far and I'm hesitant to part with him but Gaborik has been playing very well in his own right.

Stamkos has been pretty amazing and surprisingly I dont think the gap between him and Crosby is all that large.

Overall there's quite a lot of uncertainty for both sides as the trade is pretty huge, I would really appreciate some feedback there's a lot to think about and I'm still a bit of an amateur, messing up a trade of this magnitude could really cost me

Well its H2H points league, position is irrelevant so just want the better team I.e. what side will generate more points in the long run

Three of the four best players in the deal are on the same side...Stamkos, Getzlaf and Green. Obviously, Crosby is #1...but I like to have the other side more. Stamkos doesn't carry the unusually high injury risk Crosby does either...Getzlaf >>> Gaborik. Even if you want to say Anderson is the better choice than Varlamov, it's not enough to tip it in the Crosby side's favor.

Definitely the Stamkos side for me.

Okay, thanks for the insight hitman. I was probably just deluded by the involvement of crosby.

I'll skip over this one unless he throws in a better upgrade for gaborik

Well its H2H points league, position is irrelevant so just want the better team I.e. what side will generate more points in the long run

the reason i asked is because 4x4 deals rarely start that way

a gm is targeting a single player and somehow the deal morphs to include more and more parts until the deal completely gets away from the original gm and you can't even tell what purpose the deal serves anymore

Yeah I think you're right on this, It started with a 2 for 2.. into a 3 for 3 into a 4 for 4 just trying to balance the sides out/neither of us being able to settle

I should just move on most likely
