Normally I'd say Crawford and Howard but in this case would you start Crawford and Backstrom to guarantee a win since they are playing each other?

Guaranteeing one win is the same as guaranteeing you don't get two wins. Go with the best two matchups, regardless of who they're against. I'd say that's Crawford and Howard. Backstrom could still be rusty, and he's only average at best when fully healthy anyway.
