Bernier or Varlamov?

I have bernier in the hopes of dealing him to the Reimer owner. However, the owner is a first year guy and reluctant to make moves.

I see Varlamov in FA. Contract year, new coach, and working with a goalie coach. Dump Bernier and grab Varley? Do the Avs look any better than they did last year?

Varlamov = really the #1.
The choice is easy.

I agree. If wins are an important stat for you I'd definitely rather have Varlamov here.

I think people are going way overboard with this notion that they can trade whichever Toronto goalie that they own to the guy that owns the other guy.

It has to make sense.

Varlamov is sitting out there on the waiver wire meaning there are options available. Why would he trade you an asset in order to burn a roster spot on carrying a tandem for a team that isn't even the best defensive team (and according to last year, was one of the worst).

He'd have to either be an idiot, or a huge Leafs homer, or both.

I'd drop Bernier and grab Varlamov in a heartbeat. Let him worry about carrying two goalies that play for the same team. My two cents.
