1st overall H2H help: Ovechkin, Stamkos or Goalie?

So I've been out of fantasy hockey for a couple of years and joined a small H2H league this year. Sorry in advance for the long explanation of my dilemma!

League settings are in my sig. I have 1st overall pick in the draft tonight and I'm struggling with choices a bit. I have my draft rankings based on the dobber rankings run through hockeygeeks for league settings, and then re-ranked using VBD for the roster size of the league. No matter how I slice the rankings OV is first overall, but I'm worried he may bolt to Russia sooner or later and don't really like the risk. With VBD factored in, goalies end up as 2-6 in the rankings, and a run in 1st or 2nd round will leave me with really limited options in net at 16. The only other player I would consider is Stamkos:

Options and current concern:

• Ovechkin - Could split to Russia, focused on Olympics?
• Stamkos - New divisions are going to be much harder for Tampa to score
• Goalie - Lundqvist / Rask / Rinne - I don't like the Rangers schedule to start the season, so this would probably come down to a choice of Rask or Rinne which feels like a waste with the 1st pick.

Of the choices you named I would easily take Stamkos. Although if Crosby is available I would take him over both of them.

I'm still a true believer that your best bet in a league like yours is Ovechkin. He won't split. He'll get you a ton of goals, PPP, hits, etc.

For me personally, Keeper League therefore Crosby - End of discussion.

Crosby. Crosby. Crosby. If you count FOW and ATOI on top of all the regular categories there is no way on earth you do not draft Crosby first.

Thanks for the feedback all - the basically unanimous vote for Crosby was plenty to convince me to get over my aversion to band aid boys. Here is the team I ended up with:

C: Crosby, E. Staal
LW: Neal, Nash
RW: St. Louis, Brouwer
F: Kesler, Dubinsky, Weiss
D: Kronwall, Johnson, Pietrangelo, Edler
Util: Ott
G: Rinne, Holtby
BN: Hartnell, Grabovski, Gudas, Nugent-Hopkins(IR), Pavelec

I think Brouwer will come back to earth but you have a good mix of solid contributers with higher ceilings.

Never been a Holtby guy, but it seems people believe in him (including Stevie Y with the Olympic Camp invite).

My top 5 to choose from would be:

#1. Sidney Crosby
#2. Steven Stamkos
#3. Alex Ovechkin
#4. John Tavares
#5. Henrik Lundqvist

Now if this was a keeper league I would go a little different and my top goalie to pick from would be Rask and I would pick Tavares over Ovechkin
