Default OEL vs Pietrangelo - Who would you pick?

With the settings in my league, who would you select as the best keeper?

    OEL or Pietrangelo?

Looking for some of the Dobber Nation experts to provide some input here...

Urrrgh, you have HITS and no BS... I like AP too much to pass up on him, but OEL has the edge on him if you have hits involved and no blocked shots.

    OEL for me

Hits and no BLKs. So odd. I voted Piets but I agree with Bass. Gotta go OEL

I think point upside is similar, but AP gets the edge in SOG, +/-.

This is a bit of a toss up for me. I like both players a lot. I would say OEL but thats only because I own him.

Pietrangelo for me, but it is close.

I own Pietrangelo in a non-salary league and OEL in a salary league, but with no salary implications, I'd go with Pietrangelo.

I predict this will be very close.
Luckily you can't go wrong with either.
I'm going with OEL. There's a bit more sandpaper in his game and he actually had more PP TOI than Yandle last year. I see that stat manifesting itself into greater offensive numbers soon enough.

Both are solid options but I will take the guy who stirs the drink on his teams back end and right now, thats Pietrangelo. OEL is still watching Yandle stir the drink in the desert.
10 Team, Points Only, Cash League

25 Man Roster (no position), top 20 point getters count at end of month
Keep 20/25 at seasons end, Cut 5 to FA for redrafting

Yandle helps make OEL better. I don't understand why people still think this isn't the case. It's like having a good centerman to help a winger score more goals.

I totally agree with you. My statment is simply saying that OEL isn't the top dog in Phx, while Pietrangelo IS the top dog in STL. He doesn't need a Yandle to make him better (although I am sure he would love to play with Yandle). That's not to say OEL isn't a solid option, I just prefer the kid who is already the top dog on his team.

These two are the essentially the same player... their games are as comparable as you can get. Add that to the facts that they each have a terrific offensive partner to man the PP with and a group of forwards that lack elite skills and coaches who emphasize defence - and neither gets the clear edge for their surroundings...
I would go with AP because I think his offensive game is slightly better and I think his team will score a few more goals. And, unlike OEL, AP is the best offensive d-man on his team. Really too close to call, though.

I do agree that Pietrangelo is the better option, but not because of Yandle being "top dog". He is just better. Not by much though.

AP is a notch above OEL in my opinion, but in a league that counts hits and omits blocked shots, OEL has the edge. AP might outpoint him by 5-10 points but OEL will almost triple AP's hits. The rest of the categories even themselves out.

I'd go with OEL as he's just reaching his peak offensively

Thanks to all who have responded. Have been pushing our Commish to add BS's as a cat. - and agree this would make this an easier decision.

Will be giving out some rep's to those that responded.

    Thanks again...
