    Hey Pengwin,

As we're a couple days away now, would it be worth increasing the roster size to 9F,4D,2G now? It would give us an extra forward line and given the lack of teams it would be enough depth to go beyond the top players but still have a simple structure. It would also help me (or others who cannot make it) with draft prep.

Hopefully we can get at least one more manager to give us ten.

    Thoughts?

I modifed it already to 8F/4D/2G.
We can go 9F/4D/2G... that's fine.

    10 would be nice.
Somebody always comes late... I think we'll get somebody else.

Ok thanks, hadn't noticed but then realised I'd have to click 'changes' at the bottom rather than everything being shown as before.

    Yeah that's true, hope so.

Auto-drafting is completely OK for this league.

You... are the only person that I've ever seen successfully auto-draft in a deep fantasy hockey league.
[Last night in the Tier III Norris, two teams didn't show up and they are "TOAST" because the goalies didn't last and a couple teams even hoarded a 3rd quality goalie.]

Yeah... the league is just points-only.
So, if you don't manage your team and they stink... well, it doesn't negatively hurt anybody like it might in ROTO or H2H.
You can completely abuse your team and I won't even care! LOL!

You can evaluate my squad in the Dobber Pro league as I'll have to auto draft there as well. Not easy pre-ranking for that one, I keep changing strategy! At least we have the order, makes it a bit easier to start.

Think I'm done pre-ranking for tonight. We'll see how it turns out.

Good fast draft, do we want to get a list of who is who for this thing? I know Horror, P7 and hawkdog so far.

    Good to have you Laendarian.
This should be a nice (low-maintenance) pool, and 12 teams is a good number for the 9F/4D/2G roster allocation.

I'm not crazy about my team... but I did execute one of my "draft strategies" for daily leagues this year, which was to fill my 2G slots with goalie-tandems that drop.

With the pools counting Wins/SO only... I'm hoping my TOR & PHI tandems can at least win about 45 games of their 82.

Sounds like a lot of work for a low maintenance pool. :-)

My strategy was to pretty much wait on defence as long as possible unless it was the next best option. Schultz in the 6th round, Jack Johnson in the 10th, Jones in the 13th and Gardiner in the 17th (no D on the bench). I'm pretty happy with that in points only.

I also had no plans to take Bobrovsky, but when he was still sitting there at the end of the fourth round, I figured it was good value.
