Default Pts only, which one do you prefer?

League in sig....I will have to cut some salary for the upcoming season....Hossa and Koivu are out for Mac and Drouin....without knowing the salary of Pietrangelo, I think I'll have to chose between Staal and Vanek to get a cheaper FWD....so it comes down to:

    Vanek

    or

    Staal

    Which one do you keep?

    Thanks
    12 teams dynasty, Points only ( G and A = 1pt)

Vanek or Jordan Staal? That's simple...keep Vanek.

Vanek will be Buffalo's top offensive catalyst, will play on the top line and get the most PP time...he's the Sabres best player and even better, he'll be an UFA next summer. Expect a big season from Vanek...40+ goals, around 75-85 pts....CHA-CHING!!

JStaal on the other hand is stuck on the second line in Carolina. He's also stuck with two of the more injury prone, inconsistent wingers out there in Jeff Skinner and Tuomo Ruutu. Staal also is going to see less PP time and less offensive situations than Vanek. Wouldn't expect more than around 20-25 goals and 45-55 pts from Jordan.

Big, big difference in my opinion.

    Hope this helps.

I'm a huge fan of J.Staal, but I think you have to keep Vanek here.

I'm in agreement with the other posters -- Vanek for sure.
If his salary hurts, try to move him after he starts off on fire (which seems to happen with him -- at least the last two years) or after a big hot streak. He'll cool down.

If it were his brother, there might be a discussion.

    But hands down, keep Vanek.

I don't think J. Staal is very good value in cap leagues. There are much better options for the money he makes.
