Last Keeper Spot
I just inherited a pretty bad team in a Keeper League. There are 10 teams and we keep 5 players this year (6 next, 7 next next..) It's H2H with G/A/+-/PPP/GWG, and W/S%/GAA/SO
I just made a trade to get Nicklas Backstrom (WSH), as a 4th round keeper, but now I have "one too many" potential keepers. My 4 forsure are Rask (3), N. Backstrom (4), Kunitz (10), M. Smith (14).
I can either keep Yakupov (11) or Huberdeau (18). If I choose to keep Huberdeau, I can also get a bonus 8th round pick, because I have found a trade suitor for him. If I keep Yakupov, I don't believe I will be able to deal Huberdeau.
Thoughts?
Keep them both over Mike Smith or Kunitz. Yak over Huberdeau though.
I like Huberdeau and an 8th over Yakupov.

I agree. You already have Rask. Why do you want to keep Smith over Yak and Huberdeau? It's only a 10 team leauge, so there will some options for you to get a 2nd goalie at the draft.
I don't understand the Huberdeau trade.
If you trade him, you don't have 5 keepers any more.

Why not just list your entire roster and ask opinions on who to keep.
I am not sure I keep two goalies here. I have no doubt there will be plenty of other options to re-draft another solid goalie in a keep 5 league.
I am also keeping Kunitz if its me. Even if you are rebuilding, you should be able to trade him mid season to a contending team for valuable assets that will help you in your rebuild.

I think he is saying that if he keeps Huberdeau, he can trade Yak for an 8th round pick. But if he keeps Yak, he won't be able to trade Hub and so there is no "bonus" pick. It doesn't read exactly that way, but it's the only way that makes sense to me.
