B. Ryan for D. Stepan + 3rd Rnd pick
Would you guys do the following trade?

Bobby Ryan
He Gets:
Derek Stepan
3rd Rnd (39 Overall)
Draft will be all rookies & remaining players that didn't get protected.
I know Dobs got B. Ryan ranked about 6 players higher then Stepan but i'm just not sure if it's worth giving up a draft pick for the minimal jump up.

I would make that move pretty easily. Ryan has higher potential and I don't think his floor is much lower than Stepan's upside. In a points only league it makes a lot of sense. I don't think the 39th overall pick will be enough to sway me either way.

Ryan was never utilized properly in Anahiem, was seeing spot duty on 2nd line and 3rd line and no wonder he wanted out! He was also one of the most consistent scorers while getting shafted for quality ice time....
Spezza as his centreman, LINE 1, PP1 duty all year, the skys the limit....
Heatley always attributed his 50 goal seasons in Ottawa to Spezza!
