Default Offer is on the table (pts only keeper)

    Hi guys!

I'm working on a deal and here's the offer currently on the table...

    My :

    Skinner (4,35M$)
    MDZ (2,9M$)

    His :

    Perry (7M$)
    3rd round pick (22th overall)

Should i stand pat or pull the trigger?

Perry is probably the best player in the deal, but starting next year his salary will be 9M$ and going up to 10M$ while Skinner has a long term contract at 6M$ per year, which gives me cap space.

    League in sig.

    Thanks in advance!

There's no way Perry is worth all that salary. He only has been a .77ppg player over the last 2 seasons. I wouldn't recommend giving up 2 younger, cheaper assets of high caliber for Perry. Especially when MDZ is one of your two returning dmen. Plus, Skinner and MDZ are close in age to the rest of your team, which is very young. I'd stand pat for sure and not ever consider that. If it was a league that counts PMIN I'd say do it, but this trade doesn't help you now and it will hurt in the future. You would be gaining an older and more expensive star for 2 young stars and the pick isn't nearly enough to make it worth it.

I'd probably sit tight and hope that Skinner and MDZ rebound, which they are capable of doing. I think both are still fairly young. Besides, you have some serious star power at forward that will command some decent coin soon enough.

In a $64.3m cap pool... that Perry contract is going to limit your ability to be flexible.
In multi-cat, he can justify his salary.
    But not in points-only.
    PASS on this deal.

Agreed. Perry is not worth that salary in a points only league. If I had him in that league I'd be looking to move him. Stand pat.

Agreed. You seem to have a team built very well for the future, and Perry will just handcuff you. In a points only cap league, I just don't see much value in Perry. I bet the other team is desparate to get rid of him.

Thanks guys, i decided not to move. I think i overvalued Perry and undervalued Skinner even though he's really injury prone. I'll cross my fingers and expect him to rebound!
