Halak is a bit of a wild card here because of his situation in STL. He is pencilled to be the starter but its also a safe bet to say he will probably get dealt before the season ends. Who knows where he ends up. Personally I think this is a big bounce back year for him as he is a UFA at seasons end. That is normally a pretty big incentive for players to step up their game especially seeing as this could be Halak's big chance to score that one big contract. Don't think he isn't aware of that.
Maybe its just me, but I think I would rather have the Kopi/Halak side so I would probably pass on this offer. I think a lot of it has to do with the age of the two players you are receiving compared to the age of the players you are giving up. I dont think Zetterberg/Smith are enough of an upgrade for me to make me lose the age difference.

Kopitar side for me easy. I'm not a Smith fan and don't see him as a huge upgrade over Halak, while Kopitar is a huge upgrade over Zetterberg in a keeper league primarily due to age at this point.
How does your roster allocation work, as in how many forwards do you count and how many defensemen do you count? That's the main thing to consider with this offer.
I personally don't think you should trade Kopitar. After Tavares, Kopitar is your best player. (Going by the info in your signature).
You could certainly use an upgrade in goal and D.
Try using Elias and Ladd mid season to upgrade in those areas.

Why do you want to trade Kopitar? Don't do it just because you can't trade your lesser players. Your first post said you are looking for some players. What players? What is your goal with these potential deals?
Don't trade Kopitar for any of these deals. Be patient, eventually one will come along that's worth it.

So your idea of a good choice is to take one teams age in the Sedin twins and Markov from a team in rebuild ? You want to inherit all that age?
If you're losing patience with Kopi then trade him, but wait for the right suitor. Be patient with the offers and the right one will come.
Also worth noting, you are a team in a rebuild. Your best three players are basically what makes up your team -- Tavares, Kopitar, and Benn. You have age and not much on D, and nothing to write home about at G. You're in need of upgrades at D and G but avoiding to trade your young talent which also happen to be your best three players should also be a priority.
Like mentioned before, what players do you have your eyes on? What kind of players are available in the waiver wire? Are there any positional requirements or is it broken down to F, D, and G ?
