Man, Team US looks scarier and scarier every year. Just look at those goalies!

I dare say in 5-10 years they will be just as stacked as Team Canada in terms of star power.

    That's a fantastic looking team!

I would swap Bogosian in for someone. I'd take him over a few of those defensemen.

Cool to see 4 Jets invited to this camp. I could see at least a couple of them making the team.

That is one scary team, lots of scoring power upfront (Parise/Kane/Ryan/Kessel!) but with lots of grit thrown in (Backes/Kesler/Callahan/Brown), theh D is fantastic, and they have all-world Quick between the pipes.

The key advantage Canada has right now over the US squad is overall firepower upfront and the US doesn't have the centermen to compete with Crosby/Toews/Bergeron/Getzlaf up the middle. I think the CAnadian D is also better, but that gap is closing real fast. And the US now has the edge goaltending-wise (although hopefully Price can impact that in the coming years).

    That's a great roster.

The only swap I would make is Miller for Howard or Anderson. He may have had a shitty season, but Miller tends to shine in the big games and he was by far the best player in the entire tournament in Vancouver, single-handedly stealing several games from what I recall.

Nice team Pengwin. I know I'm biased but this team does not look nearly as strong as any proposed Team Canada lineup I'm seen. The forwards are a good mix of snipers and grit but have fewer game changers than Team Canada. The real concern is the D is very thin. Carlson, Seth Jones and J. Johnson would not be getting invites to Team Canada. In goal I think Quick is superior to the Canadian options but not by much and if they have to go to Howard or Anderson I would be concerned, I'm not high on either of these guys.

In my way to early projections I'm ranking the teams:
    Canada
    Sweden
    USA
    Russia
    Finland
    Czech Republic
12 team H-2-H 1 year league, daily roster changes, 3 goalie start minimum/week
    2xC, 2xRW, 2xLW, 4xD, 3xUtil, 2xG, 5 Bench
G, A, P, PIM, PPP, SHP, GWG, SOG, Hits, W, SV%, GAA, SVs
    C: C. Keller, C. Mittelstadt, B. Nelson, R. Strome,
    LW: K. Connor, B. Tkachuk, J. Gaudreau, J. Marchessault, E. Rodrigues, A. Lafreniere
    RW: K. Fiala, J. Bratt, T. Jeannot V. Arvidsson
    D: R. Josi, J. Trouba, E. Gustafsson,
    G: L. Thompson, F. Gustavsson, V. Vanecek

Dude are you joking? This isn't fantasy hockey.

That is a stacked team. The only beef I'd have is the bottom D pairing. Don't forget how close USA came to beating Canada last time around.

I agree, especially the "forwards meh" comment. Come again? Parise, PKane, Ryan, Kessel, MaxPac, Pavelski, Callahan, Brown, Kesler, Oshie. Yeah that's a pretty mediocre top 10.

This is a team that makes up firepower with grit and will-power. This is a team like the Bruins from a few years ago, stacked goaltending, solid play, and wins the close games. That's how you win the big stuff. I say they at least medal unless some team comes out of left-field and surprises everyone.

If nothing else the US will be an absolute pain in the ass to play against. That Bruins comparison is quite apt TG. These guys are big and bad.

NA, I'm completely serious I don't think there anywhere close to as good as either of Canada and Sweden and I think the Russians are better as well. I think they over achieved 3 years ago. Outside of goaltending I'm not a fan. Carlson JJ and a rookie on d exceptional rookie or not that is very, very thin IMHO.

But time will tell. In these single elimination tourneys anything can happens.

My early ranking are as such

    Canada

    Russia/Sweden

    USA/Finland
    Czech

Definitely a solid roster. I'd swap Jones for Bogosian and J.Johnson for Faulk, though.
And Howard for Miller, too. Can't not after Miller's last Olympics.
