Default Tavares for Nash and yandle?

I love Tavares but this might be enough to pry him away from me. Would you make the deal?

Team details are in my signature. My d is old, yandle would be a huge add.

Thanks in advance for your thoughts

Nope. I got Tavares for Nash and Markov two years ago and our entire league is still laughing about it. You'll regret this trade for a long time if you make it and its not close.

I would not do that on a train,
with magic mushrooms on my brain.

My one-word reply would be "not",
even on three pounds of pot.

That wouldn't be worth Johnny T.,

If Yandle turned into say, Karlsson, I'd say sure. But Yandle? No.

This is a case where Nash in terms of pure points is not all that far behind J.T. but when you figure in all other factors, you have the trump card here.

Thanks guys. What if Nash turned into parise or a sedin? Sounds like it still shouldn't be close?

It would still be a no. Having Crosby, Malkin and Tavares as your top three forwards in a league where six forwards count is a luxury that most GMs don't have.

And offer for Tavares that makes you stop and think about it should be one that you reject. The only way I would trade him is if it were a gross overpayment - a slam dunk where you say to yourself, "holy cow, this deal is too good to refuse".

I agree that you need help on D, but surely there are other ways you can bolster your back end via draft or trades that don't involve your top three forwards.

And you're not even considering the dropped player into the equation for Yandle.

Never do any of the trades you've mentioned. Never in your whole life. Ever.

    Never ever.........................Cheers.

No way I value Nash about equal to those guys especially with the Rangers adding Alain Vigneault but that's not the point. He could add a Parise or a Sedin to the current offer of Nash and Yandle and then it may start to get tough, but I still don't know if I'd tell you to do it.

You really need a goalie, so trading Tavares could be an option if you can get an elite starter for him. Nash and Yandle is not enough.

If dobber says NO! Than you should not do it!
In a Dynasty League, you keep Tavares. In a one year league, yes I would do the trade.
But you're in Dynasty League and Tavares is golden.
He's a point per game and not a band-aid boy.

Yup that's what I was thinking

What about Nash, yandle and mike smith? I have a very motivated buyer, I can't help but think I should try to take advantage...

This motivated buyer, what does his roster look like? If you could also outline how your draft works, and what draft picks you and the other GM own, then maybe we can figure out an offer that makes more sense for you. How many GMs in your league?

This is a classic example of quality vs. quantity, and nine times out of ten the quality side wins. Keep Tavares unless you get an offer that knocks your socks off.

I would still reject the offer, even with the addition of Smith to the mix. Maybe you should be packaging some combo of perhaps Granlund, Johnson and Markstrom in exchange for help on the back end. There are usually one or two GMs in each league who overvalue prospects, so find that person or someone who is rebuilding and sell quantity for quality.
