lindholm played wing in sweden and he will play wing in carolina too.
I'd rank them like this
Nichushkin
Lindholm
Monahan
I want the 17 year old who has been playing against full grown men and putting up very good numbers. And, from what I've read, he appears to have a slightly higher upside.

no, he won't. i agree he's risky. at least he seems strong enough.
Burmistrov, even last year, wasn't strong enough. he is a player that should have had expectations set right from the start that he wouldn't get handed a spot until he could win board battles against NHLers. another year (or 2) in junior, a year in the AHL (or KHL if he preferred), then let's talk.
situation isn't the same, because he was a 6th round pick and not top 10, but imagine if Datsyuk had been thrown into the NHL in '99. would he have survived to be the player he is now?
Jets ****ed up.
i'm sorta hoping the Flames leave Monahan in Ottawa another year. Canes likely won't even have the choice with Lindholm (that is the great thing about Swedes... they usually don't even try to make the team at 18, smart bastards!).
I had the fourth overall and was gonna select the russian. Ended up trading it along with a 2nd rounder for the 6th overall and Ben Bishop. I'll probably end up going with Monahan over Lindholm. That's assuming Nichushkin goes 4th and Jones 5th.
I lean to Monahan for a few reasons. He's got some size on Lindholm, he's likely to get prime minutes sooner (probably even play this year which is good for pumping his value) and the fact he's a Canadian kid helps a tad (less risk of not fitting in on NA ice).
I don't think you can go wrong with either. Lindholms upside is very intriguing. I think they will both be first line players.

I didn't think about trading the pick. I may actually do that instead
