There have been a few theories as to why Grabs was bought out.

Do you think its possible , knowing his love for kids, and he even said they are still few years away, Nonis may be trying to keep the rebuild going longer?

Bozak not signed. Kessel moved for young assets. Better draft pick....etc

If Bozak is not signed and moves on I would not be suprised if Kessel is moved as well.

Expect Clarkson to be signed tomorrow and perhaps Weiss as well. We know Nonis is interested in both and he now has the cap room needed to make it happen.

Other moves also appear to be coming as well. I would not be suprised to see Franson moved. Despite his success last year he has never been a team favorite. Not sure why but he might be involved with a deal soon.

I would not rule out an offer sheet coming for Bernier, Kadri or Gardiner. Nonis is vulnerable if those guys are not signed soon.

Doesn't make a lot of sense, if you're rebuilding you want to get younger, so you're going to replace a 27 yr old C and 25 yr old winger with a 30 and 29 yr old respectively?

Unless those two are just a stop gap, and you don't plan on them being a part of your core after 2-3 years.

I would see this as a possibility but then why trade a bunch of picks for Bolland. Kind of counter productive, no?

I don't think I quite understand the trading Kessel theory and quite frankly, I think it's pretty whack. Say what you will about his all around game(I personally think he took great strides under Carlyle) but where the hell are you going to get a 30, potentially 40 goal scorer and top 10 league scorer to replace him? It's not happening.
I hated Kessle at first and like many others, was caught up in the fact that he's not a leader type, etc...but he's really grown on me and showed a lot during the playoffs. If he wants 7 mill over 5-6 years, give it to him and build around him. I just don't see how the Leafs get better by dealing him in any way. It'll be a perpetual rebuild and will be 2067 by the time they challenge for a cup.
