He left after a couple shifts early in the second. He was not touched by a Blackhawk or anything. He went stick first into the boards, skated around behind the net and went off.
I didn't catch the game last night so I don't know what happened but does anyone have any idea when he sustained his injury?

Bergeron has been in the hospital since the end of game 6 Monday night. http://www.cbc.ca/sports/hockey/nhl/...-bergeron.html
Dude is an absolute warrior. I've always had a ton of respect for him, but this takes my admiration of him to another level.
Jimmy Murphy @MurphysLaw74 2m
Per Chiarelli, Bergeron had nerve frozen to play through pain and as result had punctured lung. Probably happened after Game 6.
At this point I wouldn't be surprised if it's eventually revealed that he was playing on a wooden leg...

Wow, Bergeron had a "small" pneumothorax (hole in lung cavity from likely rib puncture). That is usually a medical emergency - you stick a chest tube thru people's rib cages to decompress it. If he had it before game 6 and flew back to Boston with it lucky he didn't have a major problem (high altitude pressure collapsing the lung).

Think Lindros may have had same thing.

I am as on board as everybody else is with the Bergeron love, given what he did in the finals, and while nobody can question his commitment to team and toughness, I shuddered a bit when I saw him extended for 8 years. Is he gonna make it that far without this type of action causing issues that cost him some longevity?
Again, I loved it when I heard what he did, I've long said that hockey players are the toughest guys out there, worried though (for real life, not fantasy)
Good update on Bergeron's injury recovery. As we all know Bergeron went through hell in the playoffs. He's back to almost 100%. Great news!
