Gionta may not stand out but the only time he's missed the playoffs in his career was last year in Montreal when he missed half the season with injury. No clue if that's related. And this stat is most likely just an anomaly but I keep coming back to the fact that there are so many aspects of being a captain that us fans cannot possibly see that I'm not going to pass judgement.
