Sacco is by far the worst coach in the NHL right now. No question about that. Just look at his record vs the West: W93, L117, OTL21 0.448. That's just brutal.
Now his record vs the North West is even more scary: 29-52-6-0.368.
As an Avs fan I'm still willing to give Sherman the benefit of the doubt though. I'd actually cautiously describe his trades as fairly good for the Avs. Jury is still out on the E. Johnson trade as he has actually played very good defensive hockey but the lack of point production can be attributed just as much to Sacco's downright horrible system as Johnson's play. Heck it took like 20 games before any Avs defender managed to score a single goal.
The McGinn trade and the Downie trade were both pretty damn good ones for the Avs and I'd personally still believe that Varlamov will be a huge success in the crease.
What I don't understand about Sherman is how he can allow free agents like Fleischman and Mueller and McClement (extremely good 4th line center imo) without putting up any kind of effort to keep them. And the whole ROR situation was just terrible for everyone.
I'd be all for cleaning up the management starting with Pierre and Eric Lacroix and ending up with Sacco. I could live with Sherman staying as the GM but having someone like Joe Sakic as the club president keeping him on a very, very short leash. Sacco needs to be the first to go though, that has been clear for a long time now.
Colorado is a team that could really use Seth Jones. They need defensive help and they need it almost as badly as they need to get rid of Sacco. As said above, Sacco is the worst coach in NHL and it's not even close.
