I would suspect Niskanen. Last game vs Isles he was on PP1.
Letang and Martin are both out (at least for a little bit). Who is going to pick up the slack? Should I pick up Simon Despres. I know he is raw, but who else will get top PP time - Orpick? Thanks for your thoughts.

Pick up Niskanen, he will get time on the first pp unit with Malkin, Neal, Iginla and another forward (Kunitz or Morrow)

I don't follow the Penguins very closely, but wouldn't Niskanen be the front runner for additional PP time? Also, I wouldn't be surprised if they play 4 forwards for much of their PP time.

Sorry, I wasn't clear enough. I see that Niskanen is likley the go to guy on the PP (think he was getting PPT already), but do Pens go with 4 forwards (even with Crosby out) on the PP? An even then, there are a lot of minutes to even strength minutes to make up. Does Despres pick those up? thanks for your replies.

If you are near a computer tonight, you can check the Penguins box score at ESPN.
ESPN shows PPTOI, and you'll know (from the time logged) which D is getting the time.
In the last game vs. NYI, one would guess that
PP1: Malkin, Neal, Kunitz, Dupuis, Niskanen
PP2: Morrow, Kennedy, Iginla, Depres, Orpik
http://espn.go.com/nhl/boxscore?gameId=400442981
Iginla will certainly be on PP1 (not Dupuis).
Dupuis likely will be on PP2 (not Iginla).
But you can check the box score on ESPN tonight to get a good idea.
as mentioned, the Pens will play with 4 forwards on the first unit. I think Niskanen will take the right point while Iginla takes the left one. Malkin and Neal will stay together and Kunitz or Morrow will be in front of the net.
In your case i would look for somebody else to pick up instead of Depres. Allthough he has some offensive upside i wouldn´t expect to much from him. If Niskanen is not on the waiver wire i´m pretty sure you will find someone scoring more for the rest of the season.
You should also keep in mind that Despres will be send back to the AHL once Letang returns.
thanks Pengwin, will do.
