Default So, who retires after this year?

Sorry if this thread has been done already this year, I didn't see one.

Who calls it quit after this injury-filled abbreviated season?

    Selanne?
    Alffy?
    Brodeur?
    Khabibulin?

    Someone else?

Brodeur has another year on his contract, not sure I can see him retiring yet. Khabibulin may out of necessity. Selanne is really anyones guess, gonna come down to what he decides is best for him. Alffy I really have no idea.

What about Saku? I could see he and Selanne packing it in if ANA wins a cup, or if they have a prolonged run.

I think Selanne walks away. He isn't scoring at the same rate of previous seasons, and if the Ducks go deep in the playoffs he'll leave on a high note. He just strikes me as that kind of player...

I think Alfie has another season in him. The Sens have been crippled by injuries and a cup run would be completely improbable looking at their roster... I think Alfie would want a fair shot at it before retirement.

I think Jagr plays another season, maybe two, in the NHL. The money is good. He's productive. He'll leave when there isn't one (or both) of those factors influencing his decision.

Brodeur has another year on the contract and I bet he wants another healthy season to make a decision. He probably doesn't want to leave NJ in a bad spot either.

I doubt Khabibulin generates much interest with another team. He might be done.

This is all 100% speculation of course!

    Cheers

Not sure if someone will resign Mike Knuble so he's certainly a candidate.

I still say Chris Pronger will make it official at the end of this year.

Dwayne Roloson is still waiting for a team to call and hasnt made any announcement of retirement... yet. Has he finally decided to make it official??

Like Roloson, Brendan Morrison has been trying to find work and hasnt made anything official yet. Its time Brendan.

Jason Arnott probably figures its time as well.

Did Brian Rolston eventually retire? I cant remember. If not, pencil him in as well.

Ryan Smyth decides to retire an Oiler instead of being traded (this is just a guess, but I have a feeling).

Pronger announcing his retirement doesn't make sense, though. He won't get anymore money from his contract and the Flyers will still take the cap hit. Snider has enough money to throw it at Pronger for the duration of his contract so they can put him on LTIR.
